In my 2nd semester exam I was tasked to design a piece of furniture for Skagerak, formerly known as Trip Trap. I gave myself the assignment of coming up with a new take on their iconic foldable teak table, Nautic. I didn’t feel like the old table represented their current identity and therefor took upon the challenge of designing a more modern foldable table. In the process I worked mostly with the folding mechanism, as I wanted something simple that would take up minimum amount of space when folded. The result is a small side table that fits into Skagerak’s current product range.
